the interior, and picturesque and challenging golf courses, as well as quality
residential areas and tourist accommodations, have consolidated this part of
the coast as an ideal destination for a few days of leisure, a complex summer
or winter holiday and also permanent residence.
Torrevieja
Torrevieja,
situated next to the sea in the south of the Valencian community, is surrounded
by two beautiful natural saltwater lagoons that form the well known "Salterns
of Torrevieja".
Both lagoons make the town resemble a small island and the salt concentration
as well as it's temperature gives a particularly healthy micro-climate, which
is recommended by medical specialists all over the world.
Guardamar
The ancient
town was built on a hill whose outskirts were washed by the River Segura. Still
preserved, are the ruins of a castle and other historic remains from Hellenic
times, when this town was a port.
Eleven kilometres of dunes and sandy beaches give you a chance to choose isolated
spots or more frequented stretches where you can spend a day by the sea.
Between the town and the beach is the "Queen Sofia" park, thick with
trees and plants, where visitors can enjoy cool refreshing strolls even on the
hottest of days.
Orihuela
Punta Prima,
Playa Flamenca, Villa Martin, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Dehesa de Campoamor are all
tourist resorts founded to attend to the rising national and international demand
for quality vacation spots.
Today they provide comfort and relaxation for many guests who enjoy magnificent
beaches and golf.
Pilar De La Horadada
Pilar de la
Horadada is the southern most town in the land of Valencia and has a characteristic
watchtower built in the 16th century on a hill overlooking the coast.
This coastal area has clean water and well kept beaches which are ideal for
enjoying the fine climate all year round.
The Torre de la Horadada sports marina has 506 moorings for recreational craft
and is one of the major tourist attractions along the coast.
